What are the benefits of becoming a VIP member?
  • VIP members learn about new products and services being developed for the veterinary community. Companies often use research to help in new product development or to improve existing product and service offerings. In either case, you get to have a say in product development.
  • Your privacy assured. Safeguarding member privacy is of paramount importance to us. All personal identifying information you provide on your registration form and on subsequent surveys are kept strictly confidential.
  • VIP members participate in surveys at their convenience. All surveys are online and accessible 24/7.
  • VIP members are rewarded for their opinions. Burke values both your time and your opinions. When you participate in a VIP survey, you will always be rewarded for your time. We provide cash compensation, not gifts or gimmicks.
  • VIP members are given the opportunity to learn what their colleagues think. VIP members will have access to FYI where selected survey results are available for your review. All members will also be given the opportunity to submit questions to be included (asked) in our Industry Trends survey.
  • VIP members are always guaranteed privacy and security. Your confidentiality is always assured and your participation is always voluntary.

How do I become a VIP member?
  • Register to become a VIP member by completing the membership profile survey on the Register Now page. Your answers to these questions enable us to tailor survey invitations to meet your specific areas of interest or expertise.
  • Once you have completed the membership profile survey, you will receive an e-mail verification of your registration.

Why are there questions on the registration form?
  • The basic contact information (such as e-mail address) is so that we can notify you about survey opportunities by e-mail invitation. We also collect U.S. mail addresses to mail you your participation rewards.
  • We also ask questions about your clinic, interests, and online usage to help us develop general trends about our panel. This information is used to conduct statistical analyses so we can ensure that our sample of respondents is representative of the general veterinarian population. We also use this information to subdivide the panel into special interest groups and to send you surveys that are more pertinent to your interests and characteristics.

How will I be selected for survey participation?
  • We invite a randomly selected number of VIP members to participate in a particular survey. Survey invitations are sent via e-mail. This invitation will describe the survey and provides you with a link to the survey and a password to enter so that only you can take the survey.

How frequently will I be invited to participate in a survey?
  • Generally, we invite our VIP members to take surveys every 4-6 weeks, but it could be more or less. Remember, participation in any survey is voluntary so you decide which surveys you want to participate in.

How long, on average, will a survey take?
  • Survey length varies from 5 to 30 minutes. This time may also vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection or browser. We will always indicate in the e-mail survey invitation the expected time needed to complete the survey.

Am I compensated for survey participation?
  • Burke values both your time and your opinions. VIP members are rewarded for their opinions based on the time required to complete the survey. The e-mail invitation to a survey will indicated if any incentive is provided for participation in that survey.
  • We provide cash compensation, not gifts or gimmicks, based on the level of involvement required for each survey. Survey compensation will be mailed to you at the completion of the research project. Typically, this will be within two weeks of completing a survey.

Will my survey responses be kept confidential?
  • VIP members are always guaranteed privacy and security. Your confidentiality is always assured and your participation is always voluntary. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information on this topic.

What if I cannot or do not want to participate in a particular survey?
  • We understand that there may be times when you are unable to complete a survey. There is no pressure to respond to any survey. Occasionally, we send survey reminders, but again, it is always your decision whether or not to respond.

What if I decide I no longer want to be a VIP member?
E-mail your unsubscribe request to vipinfo1@burkesurvey.com .
Please rest assured that we will respect your decision to discontinue membership and will not try to dissuade you.

What happens if I miss a survey completion deadline?
  • Sometimes you'll be able to take the survey, but on other occasions, it may be closed. Don't worry if you miss a survey; you'll be able to participate in the next one.

How much time do I have to take a survey from the time I am notified?
  • The usual time frame is 7 days, but it can be as little as 2-3 days or as much as 2 weeks. If you have trouble completing a survey within the recommended time period, you can contact our customer service staff to determine if the survey is still open.
